Defence Base – HMAS Henderson (WA)
Henderson is 30km south of Perth and 25km from HMAS Stirling. The site at 103 Quill Way, Henderson, which is within the Australian Marine Complex was acquired in February 2020. This site enables the Navy to engage with Industry directly to support ship building and capability sustainment. Under the engagement of Lendlease and the Department of Defence, Moonyah Workforce supply workforce resources for the upgrade of the facilities and infrastructure and this new site.

Most of the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessel fleet are intended to be constructed at the Australian Marine Complex, Henderson. Ongoing maintenance activities for those vessels and the Hunter Class Frigates will also be carried out there.
Office Accommodation to support maintenance and command functions will be constructed on the western side of the acquired site. This facility will support the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessels and Hunter Class Frigates and their crews when the vessels are in maintenance at the adjacent site. The building will also house administration and management functions to support the continuous ship building activities for the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessel.
The site plan is designed to cater for future expansion to support other capabilities or additional though-life logistics and maintenance facilities on the eastern side of the site.
Engineering services infrastructure will be provided for each of the facilities, including electrical supply and distribution, roads and carparking, site access control, and stormwater and sewerage.
